Staff in op ward after the recovery ward were excellent, transferred to elective ward and again nurses were outstanding as well as so nice. Healthcare assistants the same and catering staff. Could not fault anyone on the two wards I was looked after so well after bilateral knee replacement. I'd love to name all but can only remember nurses Ruth, Catriona, Hilda, Lux but to name a few.

Deirdre on the ward. This nurse was excellent and was able to respond to my needs as she had treated me previously and familiarised herself with my notes. The nurse in recovery was just brilliant. She had treated me previously, I wish I could recall her name. Dr Coulter was excellent, he was reassuring, calm and very quick to get back with me for follow-up

The entire team of doctors and nurses in the ophthalmology ward/department were fantastic. So supportive, encouraging, professional but approachable. I have had many experiences with hospitals and staff in my life but SIVUH is a standard bearer in my opinion. The team work so closely and so well. I was terrified coming up to my operation but they all helped to make it a positive experience. Due to an unavoidable delay when I got to theatre I was on the table for 20 minutes before the surgeon arrived and the anaesthetist and nurses stayed with me chatting and made a scary situation into one where I ws laughing. Would not have believed I woukd have been so relaxed. The entire staff are phenomenal and they work together

The nursing and care staff of both the Orthopaedic Observation Ward and the Elective Ward were just outstanding. The level of care and the continuity of care was outstanding. This hospital runs an exceptional high care ethos. It is clean and spacious and food was very well presented. There was an exceptional reassuring warm atmosphere about the place so conducive to good recovery. The physios were sensitive and processional. The doctors did an outstanding job from admission to discharge.

Kevin, intern on duty on 3rd Feb, in the dermatology outpatients department. Reason being was the young man listened to the patient and due to his inexperience asked the consultant to review the case. My admiration goes to you for your intuition.

Dr John Coulter, a true gentleman who cares and understands a person's fear when they present to him and all the staff on the Victoria Ward. The nurses and domestic staff were second to none, some of the nicest people we have ever come across in this country's health service. A true credit to the hospital.
