I had a knee replacement in the Bons Nov 2019 and stayed on St Colman's ward. They have an amazing team there led by Maureen. Majority of the nurses were great. I have been an patient of the Bons for years along with other hospitals and always preferred the nursing care in the Bons. While in as an orthopaedic patient, I was so lucky as were other patients under this nurse's care - staff nurse Pamela Kenrick was absolutely outstanding. The care I received from her was first rate. We in the room used to sigh when her shift was over and not because we were dreading the next nurse but because she was/is such a special nurse/person. I watched while she educated students or newly qualified nurse, some would listen but you could see some didn't. She was firm but fair and tried to instill in the younger nurses/recently qualified/students, the importance of basic nursing care. If I ever need another orthopaedic surgery/procedure, I would ask my consultant if I could have Pamela looking after me. I was frightened and upset during my stay and she put me at ease and reassured me. I just can't say enough about nurse Pamela Kenrick. Every ward should have at least one Pamela. I will never be able to thank her enough but hopefully she will get to see this comment and realise what an amazing nurse she is.

All the staff in St Oliver’s - medically the care was outstanding but the individuals who looked after me for the week I spent there were all exceptional people. I was treated with dignity and at all times I felt cared for to a very high level. I met quite a few nurses, too many to mention, care staff, catering staff, cleaners, restaurant staff, and doctors and each and everyone deserve huge praise for the way they treat people. The hospital is truly exceptional and it’s the wonderful staff that are responsible for this.

Student nurse Jessica Browne on St Martha's ward looked after me while I was there. She was so kind, helpful, understanding...just a fabulous girl. The Bon Secour should be very proud to have her on their staff. I was nervous being in hospital and away from my children and Jessica really made me feel at ease. I really appreciated her care.

Nurse Eleanor (don't know her surname) on St Martha's Ward (Room 202) who was very professional, efficient, very attentive to me. Excellent Nurse. She looked after me exceptionally well and I couldn't have asked for a better Nurse to take care of me. Each time Eleanor came to my bed she explained what she was going to do which was great. Nurse Eleanor will definitely progress far in her career, which she deserves.
