Mr Paul Connolly orthopaedic surgeon and his medical team - the professionalism, skill and kindness experienced by me during my surgery and stay were excellent. I recommend anyone considering hip replacement to contact Mr Connolly and Mater Private. Along with the skill and positive outcomes of the surgery, the daily drop in touch points by Mr Connolly early in the morning were appreciated and added that personal touch that makes me rate him highly.

Mater Cork nurses Donna and Kay-lee, care assistants Donna and Te-ague. Donna was consistent, professional, kind and firm. She listened. Kay-lee made up for the appalling care of her colleague (a nurse whose attitude and disdain caused me to self discharge) who was assigned to my care. Cannot say enough good about night care teams.

Dr. O'Connor who saw me in A&E. I was admitted after an MRI scan which showed up a large meniogioma tumour. I hadn't any idea that I had this in my head. Dr. O'Connor was very thorough and reassuring, and got me organised with Beaumount neurosurgery, consultant Mr Sattar, as I was an emergency. The MRI staff were great too especially in how they managed the communications of the news that I had a tumour. Dr. O'Connor was very calm and gave me full information. I am now making a good recovery. I want also to mention my GP Dr. Barry Quinn of Aylesbury Clinic Tallaght who referred me for the MRI in spite of the fact that I didn't have more obvious symptoms.

I wish to Thank Mr Marcus Timlin as he has given me back the ability to play with my children and has stopped the threat of incontinence. He repaired a disc which was damaged through manipulation from a chiropractor and myself and my fiancee really appreciate his efforts as we are getting married seven weeks after surgery. These surgeons, who we take for granted, change peoples lives and he has changed mine for the better. Thank you so very much Mr Timlin, Fran.

Mr P. O'Neill. Was absolutely fantastic. Explained everything in detail prior to the procedure, on discharge and again at the 4 week check up. Gave me ample opportunity to ask questions. A true gentleman. And his secretary was a total lady. ( I can't remember her name). The night staff nurses were so caring on Elizabeth's ward. Oh and the girl in X-ray was a total 'mammy' minding everyone. She was a blonde young girl. Out on her own. Thank you all. Declan.

I was in the Mater Private Hospital two years ago and I had no hesitation in coming back again because of the former excellent care I received . However, this time there was a noted decrease in the staff to patient numbers and this leads to all sorts of problems in terms of safety for the patients. The nursing staff are outstanding but it is unfair to them to place such a burden on their backs. In particular I would like to single out Mr Ashley Poynton, my surgeon, for his outstanding professional care in the treatment of my spinal problems. Also the general nursing staff at the Mater Private hospital.

Nurse called Dolly in the Oncology ward in Mater Private. She was sooo lovely and really helpful. I had hysterectomy and I'm only 36. She was so lovely and kind to me. Really appreciated it. All the nurses in Oncology were amazing. Mr Tom Walsh my consultant has been such a gentleman throughout my treatment. Keeps me informed and mind at ease. Never had a consultant to do so much or be so contactable. He even brought my file across from his office to hospital wen I had scans and computers had broke down. Gentleman.

Nursing staff Carol, Ciara, Louise, Emma and especially Shauna in St Teresa's ward. They are all fantastic professional and caring. They all took great care of me during my stay for back surgery. This was a very difficult time for me personallyand they all went to great lengths to comfort me. Angels one and all. Tim.

Prof Des Carney and his team on oncology. Des was like a father/friend, answering all questions and even giving me papers to read on other drugs. First thing in the morning you'd hear him, at 6am or earlier, and he often was still there late into the evening. A no-nonsense, approachable guy, and a leader in his field. Thanks. Also Tracy Fitzpatrick my oncology nurse....an angel!
