Excellent care at this hospital. It should be used more as first choice hospital instead of Limerick University Hospital.

I was treated with great efficiency and due care. The staff were very friendly but also totally professional. I was delighted with the attention and treatment I received. Maybe someone could fix the coffee machine in the waiting area?

One healthcare professional I dealt with was the rudest person I have ever met. Disgraceful. I have never felt so degraded.

Excellent care given in the Medical Assessment Unit when I was first brought in with pneumonia. The x-ray department did a great job too noticing that I needed to be sent to the MAU straight away, rather than waiting until the following Monday to get my results of the x-ray then. There was also a very kind nurse that talked me through the CT scan I had later. Excellent care given by the nurses when I was admitted to the Burren Ward and I spent 10 nights there. Excellent diagnostic work done by Dr. T.H Pierce for working out the cause of my pneumonia and collapsed lung. I feel very lucky to have been in his care, he was extremely thorough in working out a very rare (but treatable) medical illness.

Rebuild a new public hospital in this region and staff it with a complete new set of professionals and medical staff who understand that the health service belongs to the patient/client and not to the employees.

I went to Ennis hospital because my GP suggested that I was too ill to travel to Limerick without being first assessed in Ennis. The treatment I received was excellent I later ended up being transferred to Limerick and had a very much worse experience there. Please keep Ennis open-we need small hospitals like this.

Hospital failed to diagnose a serious condition and refused to listen to patient and her family. After three admissions over the course of eight months, had to seek private treatment at a private hospital before problem was correctly diagnosed and treated successfully.

Very impressed with the level of care received by all the staff, each and every one of them were brilliant. Special mention for the young student nurses, so committed, motivated and excellent nurses already. Such a pity and waste that they cannot get a position when finished in August and will need to go to the UK or Canada. All doctors, cleaning staff and porters were friendly, helpful, compassionate and efficient. As for the food, that was simply brilliant! Have been in hospitals in UK and France, and the food in Ennis hospital was the best so far! Fresh, lovely salads, good healthy food. Was told the hospital has a female chef, my advice would be to keep her and I would like to send her my compliments and thanks. The ward that I was in, the men's ward, St Caimins, was kept spotlessly clean, by both the cleaning staff and the nurses. Toilets and shower were cleaned regularly during day and night which was great.

I found the care my son received at Ennis Hospital excellent and very fast. If this hospital hadn't been there I really don't know how things would have turned out. The staff were very friendly, supportive and explained everything they were doing to my son as they were doing it. They didn't only take care of my 11 month old son, but one nurse was kind enough to look after me and calm me down while the others worked on my son. From arrival to him being treated only took seconds, and as soon as my son was stable he was transferred to Limerick to be admitted to the Paediatric Ward where we stayed for 7 days. My son is healthy and happy now. In an emergency, this hospital gets a 100% vote from me. My son was brought in on two different occasions with two different conditions, the first when he was just 11 days old with what turned out to be cows Milk Colitis and the second time at 11 months with suspected meningitis which turned out to be a severe kidney infection, and each time the speed at which he was seen by a doctor was incredible.

Very good care. Outside, some buildings look a bit shabby and could do with a clean up but it's getting better.

I wish to compliment the nurses, doctors and all staff in the hospital for their wonderful care and attention during my stay. Obviously Ennis hospital has a very competent management team who ensure very high standards all round including hygiene.

A&E was filthy. I had been for x-ray and had not been offered any form of pain relief. One of the nurses offered me some pain relief. When the doctor spoke to me I could not understand what he said and had to get a nurse to translate for me.

Ennis General Hosp needs to be demolished and a new hospital built. Its hygiene standards are nil, no isolation facilities and is a reservoir of infections in my opinion.

Ennis hospital is awful. The staff are so slow they are nearly going backwards. As for the doctors, never in my life have I been treated so badly. They were unsure about what was wrong with me and I had to repeat myself 4 times as to why I was there. I was sent for an x-ray and it took 2 hours before I was given the results. Nobody offered me any pain killers for the extreme pain I was in. I had to keep reminding them I was there. It was a terrible experience and all to be told that I can go with no explanation at all. Also while I was waiting for a doctor to see me, I seen 3 nurses and 2 doctors standing around talking about their plans for the weekend while there was a boy in the waiting room with a broken hand and a woman with a dislocated shoulder. I think this is just awful. I wasn't even given a prescription for pain killers as I was leaving. In mu opinion, this is truly the worst hospital in Ireland.

General hygiene poor. Room was essentially a store for equipment, bandages etc. No privacy. Consultant addressing patient from doorway. Patient left without adequate care - she was blind - especially at meal-times when trays were left on bed table and she was left to her own devices, not knowing if food was there or what it was.

It seems unbelievable that I will have to wait 3 months to undergo a procedure after I was assured that I would only have to wait 2 weeks as I have private health insurance!!
